Hope your week is starting off swell! This rust skirt is what I would consider a transitional piece in a closet. It can be paired with warm items like a chunky knit sweater and stockings/over the knee socks. Or you can go the route I took with this button up top (tied the ends together for some added flair) and ankle booties.

Speaking of transition, this time of year seems to be the time that everyone urges you to look back on what the year was like to help you transition into 2017. Telling you to ask yourself what you could have done differently. What could use improvement, etc. And that is all fine. But also take this period to appreciate the current position in your life. I’m speaking for myself too.

I tend to look at the way things are presented in front of me and I begin to panic and worry. I start thinking the worse and eventually, I drive myself to the worst headache. But I’m realizing I need to just chill. I need to understand that where I’m at right now in my life is exactly where I’m supposed to be. No matter how confusing, frustrating, or annoying it is (trust me…I’m currently feeling all those things). But there’s nothing I can do about it. Things will be the way they are. 

2016 was a whirlwind of a year. I’m calling it the worst year of my life. But even with that, there were small victories that happened. And so, throughout the heartache and grief and sadness, there is still somehow, small silver linings.
