It’s the middle of November and it’s been in the 80+ degrees this week. But I was able to bust out these Zara frill pants for a friends birthday brunch so I can’t complain! These paired perfectly with this off the shoulder top , c/o Zaful. The semi detached sleeves are what sold me on this number! It is so easy to move my arms around. And since it’s cotton it was perfect for the heat. It was a bit more cropped than I imagine but it worked well with the high waist of the pants.

This next bit may or may not rub some people the wrong way. But I cannot stay silent on this matter. The end of this election season has been a disappointment and the events on Tuesday solidified the state of this country. I have been (and will always try to remain) optimistic about situations. I know that God is sovereign and no matter what, He is in ultimate control. But even as a believer, I am nervous about what the next 4 years will be like in America.

After the election results were announced, I cried. I cried when I woke up the next morning. I am a black woman. Half of this country is either looking down upon my race, my womanhood, or the lethal combination of both. It’s been almost 50 years since the civil rights movement and it’s starting to feel like little progress has been made. All I’m asking is that if you read through this post, be compassionate, be kind. Be aware of the injustices facing so many people in this country. Get outside of your bubble. There is more to the world than your own personal view. Let us practice the Golden Rule.
